I suspect this is the source of the unit's problems. It can most certainly expel cold air--you just have to stand in its direct stream if you want to enjoy it. - The water exhaust bucket is always filled to the brim, meaning that you will spill water not only by removing the bucket from the unit but also by transporting the bucket to the restroom.
